The Beauty of Making-Up ______Marriage – What does the Bible say?

If you have ever thought about how the Bible views marriage it would depend on which book you read.  Careful consideration would have to be given as the views expressed in the Old Testament they are obviously stricter than those of the New Testament.

Interpret the contents and use them for guidance remembering that the times those people lived in would have little relevance to society today and the issues that affect today’s marriages.

If you read “what God has joined together let no man put asunder” it’s a wonderful concept if you have a happy and successful marriage.

However my personal view is that God would not want any man or woman to stay in an abusive relationship – so although I believe marriage is a lifetime commitment exceptions should always be made.

In today’s society it is an unfortunate fact that there is a huge increase in the break down of marriages.

Any number of things could be the cause of this with divorce obviously being more socially acceptable that it was a few years ago.
It could also be due to couples entering marriages without considering whether or not the other party is the best match for them.
So when relationships hit a bad spot, and most do at some stage, it seems that these days it is too easy to walk away without talking through the problems and getting back on a happy track.
Communication between men and women can be difficult with both going off at different tangents – add to this normal day to day issues with children, jobs, money etc.
It’s not difficult to see why romance goes cold.

But before you throw everything away and head to the divorce courts – it would be a good idea to invest a small amount of money into education by buying “The Magic of Making Up” and applying these theories to your relationship.

It is amazing how many couples separate and end up living a miserable life on their own, or moving into yet another unsatisfactory marriage.

If you were in love once, surely it is worth the effort to rekindle the spark that was

there rather than spending more time and energy on a new relationship which may or may not work.

The devil you know may have faults but at least you know what they are!

So concentrate more on getting the romance back into your marriage and less to wondering what the Bible says.
